ENRICHED LANGUAGE ARTS – MRS. DREWS
REQUIREMENTS & GUIDELINES

1. Each student needs to read 2 AR books every 9 weeks and take a test on each book. The grade will count as 1 test grade per book. The due dates are listed below.

2. The AR book has to be on a 6th – 8th grades level and worth at least 5 points. If the book is worth 25 points and lower than 6th grade level, please get my approval.

3. The book needs to be at least 200 – 300 pages in length.

4. You must print an AR test report to be turned in by the due date in order to receive full credit.

** The purpose of AR is not to make you anxious over the tests, but to give you feedback on your comprehension of the written word. It is very important to choose a book that interests you and will keep you actively reading. You have plenty of time to finish this assignment, but please do not wait until right before the deadline to start. If you read a book and take a test and are not pleased with the results you may read another book and I will let you choose the better score to record as your test grade. **
